Speed Enforcement - Woodplumpton Road

**** SPEED ENFORCEMENT ****

Good evening, all,

One of your top reported priorities in your area are road traffic issues including speeding. The area of Woodplumpton Road has been highlighted as a specific concern from our partners at the Road Safety Partnership Team. 

As your neighbourhood team, we perform community road watch where we complete speed operations in areas that are 20/30mph.

Today we have spent some time along Woodplumpton Road conducting speed enforcement. Between 1530 and 1555 we had 80 vehicles pass us heading in the direction of Higher Bartle. Of those 80 vehicles only 2 were caught exceeding the speed limit with the fastest recorded at 26mph. 

These motorists will be contacted in due course by the Road Safety Partnership Team and either warning letters or police visits will be conducted in this instance.  

We remind drivers, motorcyclists and pedestrians of the following:

Obey speed limits and adjust your speed according to weather and road conditions. 

Avoid distractions, including mobile phones and other devices, while on the road.

Always wear seatbelts - those simple actions save lives.

Never drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that impairs your ability to operate a vehicle safely.

Park considerably and legally - do not park on zigzags, single/double yellows, no parking zones and be aware of schools nearby.
